Here are those web places I visit often, those people and sites that encourage or inspire or who are simply kindred spirits or friends.
FELLOW DESIGNERS
ILGA LEJA at www.ilgaleja.com
You may not have heard of Ilga Leja, but I predict you soon will. Ilga specializes in classic, intriguing designs that are both edgy yet traditional, the perspective of an artist exploring the past as she defines the future. She's also a very good friend.
LUCY NEATBY at www.tradewindknits.com
Who hasn't heard of Lucy? Besides being an incredible knitterly virtuoso, she's generous with her expertise and spirit. It's impossible not to spend a moment in her circle without coming away charged!
Ellene Warren at http://yarnartist.blogspot.com/
Ellene sent me an email one day and, when I followed her to her blog, I found a kindred soul who not only designs but explores. Here's a woman who once designed stage outfits for the stars and lives right in the heart of the strange, neon heart of LA. Not only does her knitwear range from the beautiful to the fun but she writes about unique things (like making wigs!).
Denise at www.loomknittingmom.blogspot.com
Denise is actively fighting to support the Earl family , Katrina survivors, build a home. I've made a donation as have many others. You can read all about it at her website.
BLOGS WHERE CREATIVITY BLOOMS
Gelomina's Blog at http://gelsominalucchesi.blogspot.com/
A blog really has to nab me to, well, nab me and so many knitters write about their cats or give progress reports on socks and things. Gil's different. Not only is she a designer in her own right but her blog focusses on creativity in fresh & exciting ways. I just love this woman!
